ERROR: Random File Unopenable

The random file, as specified in the $random_file perl variable was unopenable.

The file was not found on your file system. This means that it has either not been created or the path you have specified in $trrandom_file is incorrect.

Novell Releases Y2K Tools

Novell will distribute its Year 2000 (Y2K) Information Ferret tool, and also make Greenwich Mean Time's Check 2000 Y2K product available with Novell ZENworks. With these products, IT managers can check both NetWare servers and clients for Y2K readiness.

Novell released a test version of the Ferret product last month to 10,000 NetWare users. Now all NetWare system administrators can find out about the product on Novell's website.

The Y2K Information Ferret tool is a Windows 95/98/NT client-based tool that queries server file information from SYS, SYSTEM, PUBLIC, and ETC directories for Novell products, and then identifies the status of their Y2K preparedness. Check 2000 surveys the status of the individual desktops for Y2K readiness.

According to a Novell spokesperson, all of Novell's 90 current products are Y2K ready.
